It is estimated that as many as seven to fifteen million school-age children leave school for an empty home on any given day. The Mini-Cassia Community Children’s Center (M4C Kids) exists to address the lack of adequate adult supervision of elementary age children during the critical hours between 3 and 6 p.m. This program has been specifically designed to meet the needs of parents who desire to have a safe place for their kids to be after school, and is geared towards those kids who are students attending Heyburn Elementary. We desire to expand learning opportunities that support developmentally appropriate, cognitive, social, physical, spiritual, and emotional outcomes. In addition, we strive to offer a balanced program of academic support, arts and cultural enrichment, recreation, and nutrition. There is growing evidence from around the country that students who attend afterschool programs do better in school, and are safer and less likely to get into trouble in the hours after the end of the school day. M4C KIDS MISSION STATEMENT
Mini Cassia Community Children’s Center mission is dedicated to promoting personal growth in young people by developing their mind, body and spirit.
Mini Cassia Community Children’s Center is an afterschool program providing a safe place where kids can come to learn and develop new skills that will benefit them for a lifetime.
The process of Mini Cassia Community Children’s Center begins with a core of career professionals providing guidance and leadership through Christ-centered mentoring, homework support and group activities.
M4C KIDS SCHOOL AGE PROGRAMS
School-Age programs are available to all children in kindergarten through 6th grade for the times when you can’t be there yourself. Our experienced staff is dedicated to meeting the physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual needs of your child in a structured and nurturing environment. M4C Kids is a licensed program and operates in accordance with laws of the State of Idaho.
M4C KIDS PROGRAMS SCHEDULE
The afterschool program runs Tuesday-Friday, beginning at school dismissal and continues until 6:00 p.m. M4C Kids is in session only when Minidoka County Schools are in session.
M4C KIDS PROGRAMS ACTIVITIES
The children in the M4C programs participate in a balanced program of open play and structured activities while being supervised by well-trained and caring staff. Children have the opportunity to get involved in a variety of activities from well-balanced curriculum. We offer an array of activities that are not always available during the traditional school day, we believe these programs give students many opportunities for growth and learning they might not find elsewhere.
